Donald Trump Saved America

This is an article I wrote during the Republican primaries in 2016. At that time, it looked like the Republican establishment would be able to stop Donald Trump… Thankfully they could not!

Conservatives Revolt - The Demise of the Republican Establishment

The Republican Party treats their conservative base like a philandering husband treats his wife.  When they're caught cheating with their liberal bimbos and special interest floozies, they crawl back to their loyal, long suffering wife on their hands and knees.  They plead, "I love you!"  They  cry, "I need you!"  They beg, "Don't leave me!".  All the while knowing, they'll go back to their philandering ways once they pacify their dependable spouse.

As we know, the philandering never stops, and eventually it takes a toll on the relationship.  The lies wear thin, the promises ring hollow, their differences become irreconcilable, and it's time to go their separate ways.

Conservatives have reached this point with the Republican Party.  It is time for Conservatives and Establishment Republicans to go their separate ways.

Establishment Republicans, like George Will, Charles Krauthammer, Bill Kristol, Fox News, et al, warn of dire consequences for Conservatives if we don't vote for an establishment Republican."If conservatives vote for Trump or Cruz, the Democrats will win, we'll have bigger government, higher taxes, more regulations, and American life as we know it will cease to exist!"

In the words of Hillary Clinton, "What difference does it make...[if Republicans or Democrats are elected]?!"

Conservatives worked for, voted for, and elected Republicans.  What did we get in exchange for electing Republicans?  We've gotten bigger government, higher taxes, more regulations, amnesty for illegal aliens, immigration from war torn areas of the world, insults from the politicians we elected, and American life has been fundamentally changed.  In other words, electing Republicans has changed nothing!  In fact, they have enabled President Obama's policies and facilitated the demise of America.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.  Establishment Republicans want Conservatives to continue to do the insane.

Let's remember, Republicans made Conservatives very simple and clear promises in the past.  They promised the following:

(1) Secure the borders
(2) Never give amnesty to illegal aliens
(3) Balance the budget
(4) Fight to Repeal ObamaCare
(5) Fight unconstitutional Executive Actions
(6) Require Washington DC politicians to live by the laws they pass

Have establishment Republicans fulfilled their promises?  No.  Further, they have never taken real steps to actually fulfill their promises, except for some Kabuki Theater votes.  It it obvious they have no intention of ever fulfilling any of their promises to conservatives.

Republicans can no longer expect Conservatives to repeat the follies spoken of in Proverbs.

"As a dog returns to his own vomit,
So a fool repeats his folly."  Proverbs 26:11

We are finished playing the role of establishment lackeys.

So, where do conservatives stand?  We now expect more.  Simply fulfilling the promises of the past is no longer enough.  We want more.  We now require the destruction of the Washington DC political class.  All political class perquisites must be destroyed.

"For the love of money is the root of all evil."  I Timothy 6:10

To eliminate temptation from the Washington DC Political Class we now demand the following:

(1) Term limits: 3 terms for Representatives, and 2 terms for Senators.
(2) Elimination post term compensation for politicians (pensions, healthcare, etc).
(3) Politicians no longer allowed to be lobbyists or spokesmen, or in any way be associated with influencing legislation following their term(s).
(4) Politicians no longer allowed to work in Think Tanks or receive endowments or in any way benefit from their term(s) in office.
(5) Electronic voting on all bills from any location in the world.  Allows politicians to spend 100% of their time with their constituents.

In short, the Washington DC political class must be devoid of personal aggrandizement at the expense of the American working class.

Remember - they work for us!  We do not work for them!

By leaving the Republican Party are conservatives about to enter the Promised Land?  I don't believe so, it's never easy starting over again.  On the other hand, are we destined to wander in the desert for 40 years?  Unlikely, since our principles are so universally embraced by many Americans.

All we know for sure is - we are no longer carrying the palanquin of the Washington DC political class.   We are re-establishing the principles present at the founding of our Republic, and reinforcing these principles with the freedoms and liberties fought for and won during our history.

The new Conservative message is clear and simple:

(1) Re-establish the Founding Principles of the U.S.  Constitution.
(2) Secure our borders
(3) Implement Pro-American immigration policies
(4) Return to Fiscal responsibility
(5) Maintain a Powerful military - but use it selectively, sparingly, and only when U.S. interests are threatened.
(6) Term limits of 3 terms for Representatives and 2 terms for Senators.
(7) Elimination of pensions for politicians.
(8) Politicians can no longer work as lobbyists or spokesmen, or in any way be associated with influencing legislation following their term(s).

It is time for all freedom loving Conservatives to stand up and lead other like-minded Americans in taking back our country from the Washington DC political elites - including establishment Republicans.
